His musical ability was widely recognised and acknowledged in the Indian film industry. This includes over 75 Hindi films, 41 Bengali films, around 27 Malayalam films, and a few Marathi, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, Gujarati, Oriya and Assamese films. The composition, voice and words together created a heart wrenching yet inspiring song that feels relevant even today. As known, it was written on the eve of Indo-China war of 1962.
